Soar Into Summer 🌞 Pink Swan’s Top 4 Tips for Holistic Summer Beauty
With summer in full swing, we thought we should take a few moments to share with you our favorite ways to help your skin stay beautiful and glowing during warm months.
Ready to embrace your happiest skin yet?
Here are Pink Swan’s Top Four Tips for Holistic Summer Beauty:
1. Wear your SPF.
We know, we know, it is hot, it melts off, you have to reapply! But? It’s so worth it. According the US FDA, SPF of at least 15 has been shown to reduce the risk of early skin aging and skin cancer.
2. Wear a hat and limit sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day.
According to the Environmental Working Group who performed a study created by L’Oreal Research in 2013, 80% of facial aging signs can be attributed to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
3. Wear + eat your carotenoids and antioxidants.
Too much sun exposure can deplete our skin of antioxidants as well cause sunburn. Carotenoids are a type of antioxidant that is found as a yellow, orange, or red fat-soluble pigment. We can supplement carotenoids in our diet by eating foods like carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. We can also apply carotenoid-rich oils to our skin. Our Oasis Body Oil is super rich in carotenoids from ingredients: rosehip oil, red raspberry seed oil, and seabuckthron seed oil. Carotenoids act as a protective layer in the outer layer of the skin called the epidermis. Carotenoid supplementation should not replace SPF, but as a complimentary strategy it can absolutely help skin glow and be strong.
4. Eat cooling foods.
Consuming cooling foods can be anti-inflammatory and skin soothing during the summer months. Foods rich in water and nutrients are considered cooling and may help hydrate the skin as well as balance blood sugar and blood pressure. Examples of cooling foods include coconut, watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe, strawberries, and aloe.
Hope you have a lovely summer! 💕🌺🌻⛱
